Art For Lunch

I just read an article from the New York Times about a bizarre food artist, who is driven by her wild aesthetic and pure, unadultrated love for food. Thu Tran, 27, graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art and now lives in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. She is the hostess of the series she produces called “Food Party.” In her show, she dresses in different characters and interacts with food items that are sometimes larger-than-life, thus creating this surreal world that is almost reminisecent of a children’s show but definitely much more creepy…

It’s fun, light-hearted, and trippy. Tran’s works have previously been seen on internet sites such as foodparty.tv, (which is a cool website to check out) though her “Food Party” series has been since picked up by IFC.
