Art For Lunch

Giuseppe Arcimboldo

Giuseppe Arcimboldo was an italian painter of the 16th century who actually painted different fruits, vegetables, fish, and other organic objects and placed them on the canvas in such a way that the result resembles a human portrait.

Although slightly strange, maybe deranged, or simply imaginative, these portraits show how double meaning or illusions can be created in these paintings. The fruits are so clearly fruits but put together we can formulate an expressive person.
